This spectacular structure is just the gate to the Taj Mahal grounds.
The first view of the Taj, viewed from within the gate and then
after passing through the gate.
We paused at the standard places for photographs. Our guide chased
the others away which embarrassed us, but didn't seem to offend them.

Close up of the inlay work that covered much of the Taj, inside and out.
Semi-precious stones are set in the marble.
The mosque on the west side of the Taj. For symmetry, there is an identical but
empty building on the east side.
Ginger standing on the east side of the Taj. The marble grille behind, the verses of the Koran inlaid in marble,
and the semi-precious stones forming the flowers are all spectacular.
