The
roofers and the painters made remarkable progress on Tuesday.
The house looks good on Wednesday morning. |
The
roof crew in action. L-R: Ruth Goldthwaite (Chicago),
Molupie Mofokeng (Durban), Jodi Flick (North Carolina), Ghirmay, and
Joe.
While they worked on top, others crawled inside the
trusses install the insulation, and framers worked below. |
Paul
Eppinger working on the framing. Don Flick and I worked all day
inside.
I set the electrical boxes in preparation for the
electricians who needed to run the wire before we could drywall. |
Our
house leader sent me over to another house that had fallen behind where
I set the electrical boxes. The different style is apparent -- the
gable ends are the front and back.
Jerry worked over there as well. |
We
knocked off this evening before dark. From the back of our house,
looking down the hill, we could see a couple dozen beautiful red roofs.
Dinner was served by caterers in tents at the top of
the hill. There was wide variety and it was pretty good -- chicken
dishes and curries and plenty of other items.
Each evening, we had to head back without too much
delay so I could ice my leg. I tried to take time during the day
to ice it, but it was hard to sit when everyone else was working. |
