A group of cross-country skiers arrived at the pole after a lengthy trip and were treated to a look at the drilling operation. The hose at the right is the drill hose and on the left is the return hose which only goes down about 100m.

A leak developed in the drill hose, spewing hot water and steam into the air. The drillers kept drilling until the hose unreeled to the damaged area.
