In the village of Spat, a factory was owned by a Mennonite, Langermann; it seems to me that we were told that it is became a military site.  A lovely house behind that factory was probably for a factory supervisor.

We were invited to the house and taken inside.  Heavily laden grape vines shaded the entrance and some garden produce, red peppers and squash, sat on the bench in front of this Mennonite door.  It makes an intriguing combination.

We enjoyed some grapes on the way back to the bus.

Spat Children
Various tour busses had already been to Spat, and children had been given pens and postcards.  Now they wanted to collect signatures.  With our guide translating, Delbert and Marj Wiens enjoyed the interaction.
